1938 square four petrol tank pin stripes

Does anyone have details of the gold pinstripe lining on my petrol tank---I have seen details in the past but can't remember ---I think they were detailed by Dragonfly but not sure??-----Ha any one used 3M pin striping tape instead of painting the lines on, if so does it look ok.

Thanks for your reply Chris---So these rubber washers should fit over the flange of the valve guides in the rocker box ?---Have you any idea why they are fitted--what do they actually do ??

Thanks all for your help--All the new guides are now in and look good----Took the guides down to 1/2 thou above the hole size--Put the head in the oven to 100 degrees and put the guides in the freezer over night ---They went in great with a little resistance.

Thanks all for all the valuable information---As the cranks and are as original from new and with new connecting rods and Pistons from Dragonfly it looks like I won't need to do any Balancing

I have a set of 8 rubber washers part no-1032-39 that fits under the valve spring bottom collar !!! could some explain how they fit--do they fit on top of the valve guides or should they be stretched and pushed over the top if the guides ?---when I stripped the engine it didn't have them fitted Rega...

I have just purchased a set of new Connecting Rods and shells and are a bit confused with the instruction supplied I wondered if someone help---- 1)---The instruction say reduce the location tongue on each shell by 10 to 12 thou but the drawing shows 0.0010" to 0.0012" -- Which is correct....
