Spindle length may not matter, I guess it wouldn't support any pinion fitted as the pin goes through the plain part of the gear.

But there isn't enough spindle to support the gear?? The spindle protrudes through the pinion on the Ariel.

The BOSCH one seems not to have enough of the spindle exposed.

Maybe the direction of rotation is wrong, the helical is the other way. Perhaps the one in the Square has a longer 'stalk'. Difficult to tell from photos. If the main spindle is ok for the Ariel drive gears I guess the direction of rotation can be sorted by connecting the spark plug leads in the 'wr...

Interesting, they're wound the opposite way. Is the pair to each wound the same way?

The emergency ignition position only gives one spark I believe. Is the switch faulty or incorrectly wired?

The bar passes through the spokes doesn't it? Does seem a very good idea. I'm sure the reminder is a vital part too.

Where might one fit a couple of brackets for storage when riding?

Modify to act as crash bar through the top front sidecar fitting?
