Re: Scew thread size & type?

Perhaps it is a reflection on the state of many threads I have encountered in this area that a 2BA screw will invariably fit, even if it was originally a smaller, finer thread. I will take a closer look at the best condition end I have, to see if I can ascertain exactly what the thread size is, but ...

Re: Scew thread size & type?

Single Cams

With the alloy engined VH I purchased a couple of year ago. I had also brought the remaining spares. I had kept the cams, but one of them appears to be a "special" regrind, which I think is the same as is fitted in the VH. It is described as "Brian's cam", and Brian used his sing...

Re: MO1 Magneto Question

Hi Bob I have built and sold a lot of MO1 mags, and know that a few ends had a deeper seating for a thicker camplate. However, the later thinner camplates can be used with a star shaped packing washer underneath, it needs to be star shaped to allow for movement of the camplate plunger. I have never ...

Re: NG Iron Head valve job

A word of caution about using liquid nitrogen to chill iron valve guides before fitting, you need to allow them to warm a bit before fitting, as iron at -197 degrees centigrade becomes fragile, and liable to shatter. I believe liquid nitrogen is used by vehicle breakers to separate the iron part of ...

Re: Ariel Spares for Sale - Last Update January2019

Due to various health problems, I will not be attending many autojumbles in future, and may have to stop attending them altogether. As a result, I have (reluctantly) recommenced EBay sales (user name Cardiffpete) and have finally opened a PayPal account in conjunction with this, so this will be an o...

Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2019

Before I get deluged with requests for KH head gaskets (!), I believe the one Les brought was for a Huntmaster/A10, which are still available from some suppliers.
