Panier Bags

Bought from a Dutch club member who lives close to a militairy surplus store.
A bit smaller, but definitely period! I did not know BATA made these, but a search on the net confirmed they did.

Very nice. First year with the ‘Y number frame’. Looks quite original, VG33?

Ariel W/NG

I aquired this 1940 ArielW/NG a couple of weeks ago. It came from Belgium and I guess it was left behind as war surplus. It is still in civilianised trim, but this winter I will bring it back to its former glory with a coat of olive drap or desert. It looks that frame and engine are from the same co...

Re: ariel motorcycle my great father

Gregory I recently aquired a W/NG from Belgium which fits in the same engine number sequence (3838>6149) as the one you mentioned. As Adrie stated this is late 1940 early 1941. Re: Rigid frame for my Ariel???

According to Draganfly's list of frame numbers your frame number RF1863 would be rigid 1949 model.
The 1949 plunger frame starts with SFxxxx
When your engine prefix also starts with EJ that would be correct for a 1949 VG.
Oil tank, frontforks top- and bottom yoke are also correct for 1949.

Re: Brake pedal

No there is no casting number as far as I can see. The lenght and shape are exactly like my former 1947 NH as far as I can remember, except for the angle. See picture. It now touches the primairy dome, when one wants to brake.
