Yes, it's not the good way but, hammer one cap of the pushrod than a small aluminium fill pease in the cap, than the cap back on the push rod, so making it longer.

There is always a way back.

I have made the metal numberplate supports, they have 1 bolt on mid top and 1 at the mid bottem. Red Hunter 500 engine 1937 is sold

Sold, VH 500 engine. I have opened the oilplate, there is a steel crank inside, looking in the plug hole, it has a flat piston 6:1 ?, it has polished ports and turning free, the engine sprocked is as new. Only 1 chip missing on bottem barrel, I can weld it on for you. The number is CC1065, I haven't...

I think your crank slip is doing his work, in that case the spring is to soft or the slip worn.

For my self I am using a bush so it can't slip fully, just move.

The best is to bring the stand back to it's original shape, when new the rear wheel was at least 1 inch free.

Only one number differend from the very original V twin on the clubsite photo's, so it has to look the same.
