No, the drive side.

I think you are over lubricating, your sparkplug won't like this.

If you have a black oily sparkplug on route, break some ceramic material away from the inside of the sparkplug, thus making it hotter and burning the oil better.

Re: White & Poppe engine breathing

A belt driver has a blind hole where the chaindriver has the breather-dripfeed.

Pre 1910 breating was mainly trough the crankshafts, I have never seen a 1910 model.

Re: Mangled sludge trap plug

When fully lifted my forklegs are not exposed.
Maybe your forklegs are longer, (BSA)?

Re: Mangled sludge trap plug

You are well with in the new sidecar rules; not wider than 255 cm. not higher than 400 cm..

I have tried a sidecar with an old Ariel on it,(free on the ferry), only to find out that it's not the best way of transporting.

Something strange with your frontforks.

Re: Mangled sludge trap plug

Early 1954 VH, it won't be easy to find the carb connection rubber.
Frame nr. between 100 and 500?.

Re: Rear Carrier

I am using 1956? cardboard travel cases from a carbootsale on my 1956 Ariel.

The carrier is bolted to the top spring bolts so the rearside can swing up or down depending how long the rear straps are, ( no welding needed).

The photo,s will take some days.
