Re: Vh from Bill Lomas

As fahr as I know, they don't make replica VHA barrel and heads.

Better ride it as is becouse bringing back to original will cost more than buying a compleet 1957 - 1958 VH.

Re: 1953 AHA PARTS WANTED

If you are making the stay's, don't forget to put a smaller tube in the ends before flattening in a rounded press tool.

Re: 1953 AHA PARTS WANTED

The roundfoots are only made in 1949 approx. 60 of them, the factory riders didn't like them becouse of the small fins.

Re: 1953 VHA

Photo's of my wife's VHA, wich is in the optional maroon (didn't like blue), the org. carb. is in a save place as are the rejected sadle springs.

The numberplate support on the 1953 should be of BSA, (the first signes of merge?).

Re: Cast-Iron to Alloy?

The major model changes where done in August during de vacation so machines could be altered, after Sept. the sales went down so the shows started for the new model. In 1902, when Sangster took over, they "post" dated the frame numbers of Okt. Nov. and Dec. to January, they still do this w...

Re: Ariel Hunter head polishing

Your asking how polished a Red Hunter head left the factory in 1950, I have bought highly polished and just grinded to the flow, I think that 1936 - 1940 the VH was most polished.

Re: Ariel Hunter head polishing

I don't know what year we are talking about, but as even now Ariel owners are "tuning" theire engine, this is done as long as motorcycles are built. To my knowldge VG was only grinded the first 5mm of the inlet, after that it looked like the Alps. So I am sure they where grinded before the...
