repairing bent fins

Has anyone had a go at repairing damaged (not broken) fins on an ally motor? See Pic.
I would like to try a repair before replacing the manifold.
I assume the repair involves heat, but is there a procedure to follow?

Hi John, I think somewhere around $4,500 AU for the bike, if it is complete. Maybe a little more? I haven't been following prices that much, but there are a couple of 500's on ebay at the moment with bids around that. I did see two Ariels for sale at Bills in Birdwood SA. A restored Huntmaster for $...

Hi Thomas,
I think the original spot is under the seat for a Mark 1. Mine is there and seems to work OK. It's not the most watertight spot, but I haven't had any trouble.

I have uploaded what I think is the rest of the filter as supplied to us in the colonies.. Thomas' bit is in the upper left corner. I think the filter was originally intended for another use as the inside mesh is of the type used for "oilbath" filters used at that time. To be effective as ...

Hi Thomas,
I have this setup on my Mk1. I think it was a police bike in South Australia. The filter is fairly basic and I think it would be reasonably easy to make. I can take some photo's or send you a drawing if you want them. brhome@internode.on.net
