Re: My latest project

Hello,

I took a split mould from a cast bumper bar and for the small bumper chopped two pieces out to create the smaller one. Unfortunately the mould has started to break so I don't think I'll get anymore out of it. ( I've managed to get three copies )

Re: My latest project

My carrier came with the alloy showing on the top surface and a few extra holes.

I made a bumper for the pannier-less bike out of fibre glass.

Re: My latest project

Hello, Attached the Suzuki X7 piston beside an Ariel one, you can see the difference in the rear skirt and the slight difference at the top of the piston -- and as you observed the taller dome of the Suzuki. There are some pistons which have a longer skirt, I think they may be GT250 A but are otherw...

Re: Arrow ignition

Hello Roy, Its not unusual for two strokes to run backwards. My Leader with Boyer ignition does it occasionally and the 270 Leader with a Pazon system does it a little more often. You can usually feel/hear the difference in the engine. It seems to happen on starting from cold when the engine fires j...

Re: Wanted Golden Arrow Carb and Strangler

Hi, The 376 carb is available new but they are expensive, the strangler unit is not as easy to find as the 375 one but there are some around. Some of the used 376 carbs are getting worn by now . Keith Harding may have some or the club two stroke spares. Some riders are fitting Mikuni carbs which wor...

Re: Electronic Ignition

Hi Roy, I have Boyer ignitions on the Arrow and standard Leader, they require a bit of machining to fit and are a bit harder to time but have worked OK for the last few years . Both bikes run on 12 volts. The 270 Leader has a Pazon unit, also 12 volts, it is easily bolted on and the inbuilt timing f...

Re: Wiring Diagram

Hi, I've just found a Lucas booklet which came with the Leader when new and it says when using the higher out put from the alternator the emergency start facility may be adversely affected. The Boyer power box on my Leader has an emergency start facility, I've found this very useful at times. On the...

Re: Wiring Diagram

Hello Roy, I've just been looking at the wiring, your going for the negative earth system/connections, it makes it easier to add modern items. The connections from the alternator to the rectifier/reg look OK to give full out put all the time. The connections from the rec/reg. to the earth and ammete...

Re: UNC or UNF?

Hi, Just a bit more information on threads, as an example of the mixture of types of thread on a bike/ engine which has a lot of UNC/UNF. The parking light has BA for the lens screws, 14 TPI for the mes bulb and 3/16 unf to fix it in place. The tap has 4 BA for the retaining screw, 1/4 bsp for the t...

Re: Arrow sports Clutch Plates

Hello, The rod takes the action from the off-side where the cable fits, to the near-side, it runs in the gear box shaft and pushes the clutch pressure plate away from the clutch. There is a sectional drawing of it on page 62 and 35 in the manual. Getting the primary case off is not too hard, putting...
