Re: 1962 Golden Arrow, remove primary chain case

Hello Bernie, The people to check for a new nylon sleeve adjuster are John Ellis of AOMCC two stroke spares and Keith in Chester , I can give you his number if you don't have it,he has a lot of spares. A batch of new adjusters were made by one of the club members a few years ago but I don't think th...

Re: My latest project

Hi,

The locker liner looks very good , it certainly males it brighter. The originals were made of mill board about 1.2 m/m thick , coloured grey/brown but after a year or two they looked much darker.

Re: Arrow Exhaust pipe retaining rings

Hello Roy,

Have you tried Keith Harding from Chester he may have the retaining rings and the sealing washers.

I may be able to find one spare retaining ring , it may be a little rusty but it will keep you going until a better on can be found.

Re: PAZON? BOYER? or AN OTHER?

Hi Terry, I have both systems on my bikes but the Pazon is easier to fit and set up. The only problem I had was the twin output coil supplied by them giving up after 2/3 years--replaced with two 6 volt original coils which are working well. The Boyer needs some machining to get it to fit and is a bi...

Re: Basic Questions

Hello Graham, There is a cross sectional diagram showing the chain adjuster on page 26 of the workshop manual. If you don't have one I can send a scan of that page/diagram. As the nylon adjuster sleeve is pushed into place and turned it locates onto the flat part of the adjuster rod, the other large...

Re: My latest project

Hello,

I took a split mould from a cast bumper bar and for the small bumper chopped two pieces out to create the smaller one. Unfortunately the mould has started to break so I don't think I'll get anymore out of it. ( I've managed to get three copies )

Re: My latest project

My carrier came with the alloy showing on the top surface and a few extra holes.

I made a bumper for the pannier-less bike out of fibre glass.

Re: My latest project

Hello, Attached the Suzuki X7 piston beside an Ariel one, you can see the difference in the rear skirt and the slight difference at the top of the piston -- and as you observed the taller dome of the Suzuki. There are some pistons which have a longer skirt, I think they may be GT250 A but are otherw...

Re: Arrow ignition

Hello Roy, Its not unusual for two strokes to run backwards. My Leader with Boyer ignition does it occasionally and the 270 Leader with a Pazon system does it a little more often. You can usually feel/hear the difference in the engine. It seems to happen on starting from cold when the engine fires j...

Re: Wanted Golden Arrow Carb and Strangler

Hi, The 376 carb is available new but they are expensive, the strangler unit is not as easy to find as the 375 one but there are some around. Some of the used 376 carbs are getting worn by now . Keith Harding may have some or the club two stroke spares. Some riders are fitting Mikuni carbs which wor...
