Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2020

Glad to hear that you're OK Steve - just dented pride (we've all been there . . filtering on the M6 with the 39" wide BMW  ).

And good to hear that no smoke escaped from the electric bike - it'll not work after that  .

Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2020

The one in my garden has a 'Hi-Viz' yellow plastic sleeve over it ! Bad luck, Steve. Its very annoying when something like that happens. I parked my BMW 1150 at an Hotel in Dover - before going to the Ferry the next day. As I walked away it toppled over its side stand and the screen hit a wall. Not ...

Re: Experts

I didn't know that 'Brake Reline Services' had closed - that's a bummer, I've used them many times in the past. A sign of the times, I guess. Fortunately they have re-lined the brake shoes for all my current restorations so I'm OK for the moment. Time to search the Ads in Old Bike Mart I guess. Bob.

Re: Oil level in cam housing singles

I'm confused . . . The gasket isn't going to raise the oil level under the cam as its on the same side as the standard drain hole. The gasket will raise the level between the the timing chain cover and the gear pinions - meaning they will spray more oil about the place. Is this what you intended, or...

Re: Posting multiple identical threads

On your post , four boxes top right, just hit the x. Dave Yes, That works when the thread has just been posted, but I think you lose the facility as soon as someone else posts. Right now I only have three boxes - i.e. As Author, I don't retain the Edit permissions. I didn't spot the duplicate in ti...

Re: Posting multiple identical threads

I've just replied to an existing thread - and that worked straight away.

When I posted this new thread it too hung up, so I ignored it and went and did something else . . . Result = one single 'New thread'.

Maybe its just an issue with new threads.

Posting multiple identical threads

I have noticed a number of occasions where 'multiple threads' have been posted - and now it has happened to me. I wrote a simple thread about Motorcycle Mags. When I went to <Submit> nothing appeared to happen. I waited a while but still nothing, my desktop PC appeared to have 'hung'. I clicked on <...
