Re: ALLOY WELDING

I've used 'Lumiweld' successfully on small jobs (filling holes where the thread stripped and so on). I keep a load of rods in readiness as its a useful process. I also have a MIG and TIG welders. I repaired a Horse Trailer alloy partition with the MIG, using alloy wire, Argon shielding gas and with ...

Re: Snapped timing chain

I've also installed over 100m of SWA cable, only to find that one conductor had a break inside, grrr. So experiance has taught me nothing is 100%, 100% of the time. Paul DOH  . . I've just installed 35 metres of 4-core 10sq/mm SWA cable - but I haven't tested it yet. Fingers crossed. ;) Bob.

Re: A new member needs advice

Welcome to the wonderful world of Ariel singles, Steve - and welcome to the Club.

Whereabouts are you . . . . We may be able to get someone over to give you a hand and advice ??

A few pictures of your 'new' bike would be good as well 8-) .

Re: Yahoo Groups

I usually record movies - then fast-forward over the Adverts. If I actually watch something on a Commercial channel the sound gets muted during the ads. I have noticed the constant ads cropping up on You-Tube, its very annoying. Also my e-mail provider (Tiscali . . now TalkTalk) recently started cha...

Re: 1931 Ariel LB

Question: What is that threaded Hex fitting that's part of the rear stand (next to the spring attachment) ??

Was there a handle there to help pull the bike back onto the stand ?

Curious :? .

1931 Ariel LB

A friend (not a club member) has recently acquired this 1931 Ariel LB, 250cc side-valve. It is a nice little bike that goes well and sounds good. It certainly isn't concourse but its all there. A neighbour, an Electronics Engineer, is attempting to get the '3-brush' dynamo to work. I supplied the wi...

Re: Some woman can ride.

I've ridden my gi-normous BMW 1150 GS Adventure along some scary trails in Morocco, Turkey, Bosnia (and some of the bends on the Stelvio pass are pretty scary) but the thought of riding it on those roads makes my blood run cold. They did really well on what appeared to be standard road bikes ...

Re: The making of Royal Enfield's nowadays

So that's where I'm going wrong when assembling frames . . . I need a bigger hammer  . Spend an hour assembling the thing from scratch . . Get it on the rolling road . . and give it the berries through the gears  That's a very impressive set-up, I wonder what their annual production output...
