Re:

but something is stirring inside! It sounds better than another "Route 66 on a Harley" trip anyway ;) . Going North of Lake Superior sounds like a good plan, the greater the challenge the better :D . All we need then is a £6,000,000 Film Crew in a couple of 4x4s following us . . . 8-) Any...

f**k me Steve .. I'm 50 in 2 years .. let's do it ... Tempting isn't it, I'd love to do that (I'll be 67 in May  ). I wonder what it would cost to ship the VH over ?? My big Beemer would eat that route. In 2010 I rode across to Turkey and did a complete anti-clockwise circuit - then home. 8,6...

Classics at the Scottish Motorcycle Show:

Classics at the Scottish Motorcycle Show – 8th Mar 2014 The Scottish Motorcycle Show is held in March at the Royal Highland Showground at Ingliston on the West side of Edinburgh, which is about a mile from my house. I could walk, but as there is always the possibility of me buying something heavy I...

Framed Ariel Bike Prints

Folks, Just a 'heads-up' in case anyone is interested. While searching for P&M Panther parts on eBay I came across this company selling bike prints. They have a lot of Ariels (and other makes too). http://stores.ebay.co.uk/UK-Printing-couk/Ariel-/_i.html?_fsub=4203348016&_sid=517760466&_...

Re: 20" inner tube

I would rather use a 19 than a 21. A tube will stretch evenly but not scrunch up evenly. It all depends on the width of the tyre. The Draganfly 21" was for a narrow tyre, putting it in a wider one will reduce the diameter of the circle (the material has to come from somewhere) so I would expec...

The Devon Rim Company advertise an inner tube that fits both 19 inch and 20 inch rims - here:

Re: 20" inner tube

Hello, I want to renew the innertube of the 20" front wheel of my '51 NH. Where are innertubes of that size available? Thanks and Kind Regards Klaus Klaus, Inner tubes are quite forgiving and a 21 inch will fit a 20 inch tyre. Have a look at the Draganfly site here: http://www.draganfly.co.uk/...

Re: Petrol level in carb.

back in the day, we could get Monobloc float bowl covers with a glass (more probably plastic!) window in it so that the fuel level could be seen. They were useful for setting-up carbs, though some people used to run with them all the time (and with finned float bowl extensions   ). Are th...

Rod, You could try asking Lynn Isaccs at "Taff the horns" - he seems to have an extensive knowledge of vintage horns: http://taffthehorns.com/ORIGINAL-VINTAGE-Lucas-Altette-when-available-ask-lynn-isaac-tinyworld-co-uk-for-availability-Costs-CLAXONS-TOETERS-HORNS-HUPEN-Plus-Miller-Clearhoo...

Re: Side Stand Picture request

I don't trust these stands and have only ever put one into use when the rear stand on one of my bikes broke. +1 - I had a side stand like that on my '53 Square four (back in the early 70s 8-) ). One warm day I parked it up on the sidestand and was talking to some mates when I caught some movement o...
