Re: Square Four .060" pistons wanted

I now need pistons for my square four. I need a set of four .060" size pistons. Drags has got them. I am trying to see if I can save some money over their price. Kumar Kumar, I haven't checked the Draganfly prices - but is this of interest??? http://vintagemotorcyclepistons.co.uk/shop/article_...

Re: subject

Works for me, thanks ;) .

I have requested the two-part V55/5 as I'll have to recover the original number for my 1930 Panther M50.

I won't need the forms for a while as the bike has to be in one piece - not the five crates of 'bits' I've got at the moment  .

Re:

I am wondering now why I messed about without a lathe for so long. Yes, lathes are a great addition to the workshop. A few years ago I bought an old 1950s Denford Viceroy (a 'Boxford-type' lathe) from a local Engineering Works who had gone over to CNC. I have spent a lot of money bringing it back t...

I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but Gee, could the exhaust system be any uglier? Nev Showing my ignorance again . . . Was it possible to swap the heads on the JAP motors?? It looks as though the motor in the Norton frame has two front heads - allowing two carbs to be fitted. (and therefore t...

Re: 12 volts from a 6volt dynamo

Hi, I'm having some disturbing thoughts about all of this.......... On the BMW the rotor is on the end of the crankshaft isn't it? Keith On the 1150 the alternator is belt-driven. On the earlier 450/650/700/800/900/1,000cc "Airhead" motors they were on the end of the crankshaft. I also ha...

Re: 12 volts from a 6volt dynamo

Until I bought the 'VH' this year I'd forgotten just how underpowered old British bike electrical systems were  .

My 2004 BMW R1150 GS Adventure has a 720 Watt 12V alternator - that's 60 Amps  .

I'm seriously considering an Alton for the VH.
