Re: Wheel spokes advice required again....

I don't think that, as a whole, anyone has probelms with spoke lengths judging by the lack of replies quoting similar problems to mine. Hello Alan, I certainly had problems with rims and spokes from Central Wheel/Draganfly but I've been a bit busy to reply in detail. I've had absolutely no problems...

Re: Further Dynamo Problems

The earths and continuity through the coil and through the brushes are good. So at this point all looked good..................................I then separated the F and D terminals and applied 12V to the field coil and drove the dynamo while monitoring the D terminal. Result 7v at the D output. Do...

Re: help sq 4 wont run

Hello Kevin, Congratulations on taking the right decision. I wish I was in Malaga right now as the forecast here calls for 14" of snow today. If you are patient and persevering you will be able to take that motor apart and put it back together without insurmountable problems. There are many peo...

Re: help sq 4 wont run

I have owned the bike since 1990. It had been in storage in a shed in yorkshire since 1970?? I ran it last in 2002 Hello Kevin, Are you saying the motor hasn't been opened up to clean the sludge traps since the 1960's, if ever? If that is the case I would advise not to even think about running the ...

Re: solex - poor mpg

One thing I must pay attention to is the float height though, as the contact point on the float to the shut off valve is a bit concave from wear. I had thought of applying a bit of solder to ease the dimple in it - might be part of the problem? Hi Mark, I looked through my notes on Solex carbs and ...

Re: My 4G Restoration Blog

Hello Paul, I like your idea of a line reamer tool. What clearance do you intend to use between your timing side bushes of leaded bronze and the crankshafts' journals? And how would you measure it? Bore gauge? Internal micrometer? I understand that the 1.5 thou used with Babbitt material may not be ...

Re: December's Cheval

I hope these are the last, but if not it is a lot easier if you email me direct. Hi John, Thank you for all of the work you are doing for the club. It is very much appreciated. I'm sure you don't need the additional headaches of missing Chevals. Like Ian, I didn't want to be too quick to complain a...

Hi Ian,
Do you find the 3.00x20 too small? That is what I have been using on the front of my VH all these years and it seems to go well.
