Re: 1"spacer for VB carb

Made one from aluminium bar with a deep undercut allowing the studs to be exposed. 1/4 inch flanges both ends. 1 inch length is the max to allow a 389 1 1/8 amal to fit with bellmouth without touching the oil tank.

stuck in outbox - personal messages

Hi.
I have 2 messages that seem to be stuck in outbox - personal messages can't find any way out to send. Or does it take a little time to send? Thanks

Re: BJD 892 Ariel 500 single about 1948 - photo 1950's

Hi John,
I will do that. He took the photos away with him - but I will follow it up. There's a couple of Triumph ones as well may be of interest.
Best Regards

I was shown a photo of an Ariel 500 single reg. BJD 892 by a friend of a neighbour recently. The bikes age is estimated at 1948 - 1953. The photo shows the owner Sam Smith on National Service in khaki army uniform late 50's - 60's A bit of long shot but if the bike still exists I will forward a copy...

Re: Wheel Building offset dimensions

Thanks for the link and responses. Clearly the link states 1 1/4 inch which is contrary to Dave Pitts 2 inch for a front hub (telescopic). I will make a request of Admin to see I can get permission to access this document, which is all I need. It will be interesting to understand why there maybe dif...

Re: Wheel Building offset dimensions

I have just found the Dave Pitt article item 79 dated 9/12/2006 on the knowledgebase. Extract says ""I can tell you that the front wheel offset of the 1946-53 telescopics is 2 inches measured between a straight edge laid across the machined lip of the brake drum and the edge of the standar...
