Wheel Building offset dimensions

I am sure I am not the first to ask but I cannot find any suitable links on the forum to get this info. I need the offset dimensions for the following hubs which I bought as single items (ie no rims or spokes). Front wheel - Type 3 1946-1955 Half width cast iron Telescopic fork. Rear wheel - Type 5 ...

Wanted - Rear wheel sprocket 4305-32 1926>1955

I am looking for a rear wheel sprocket for my latest rigid 1945 500cc single project. I managed to find a rear hub recently but had no drive sprocket included. From my research its a 4305-32 fitted to the type 5 rigid 1926 - 1955 and also the type 6,7 and 16 for the half width plunger and swing arm ...

Re: Burman gearbox stripdown

I found an old mainshaft with a similar problem with a poor thread and belled end. I'm in the process of reducing the thread size to 9/16 cyc.

Re: TT carb on 500 single

I will check out the alignment as you suggest. I have already modified the tappet adjusters to achieve a more defined contact point with the valve stem head, as they were not perfect with regard to location. Regarding lubrication I'm not using the oil mist. The bike engine history was in local grass...

Re: TT carb on 500 single

Update on this belated topic just to let members understand the carburettor issues were consequential to the main fault I found. I removed the 1936 single port head and found really extreme inlet valve guide wear. Exposed valve gear and grease lubricant to the valve guides over 5000 miles were no su...

Re: Telescopic Fork Seal Holders - Ariel vs BSA

Thanks Jim,
Measurements of my Ariel parts 2 separate sets gives 4 3/16 inch total length. I can't see any problem with the extended length (say 1/2 inch) can interfere with anything. Thanks for everyone's input.

Telescopic Fork Seal Holders - Ariel vs BSA

Can anyone confirm if the Ariel fork seal holder H56-46 is the same item as the BSA B31 - A7 - M20 series seal holder 29-5310 are the same item.

I have a vague memory that BSA cloned the Ariel fork legs.

Re: 1930's Model G petrol tank on 1947 rigid frame

Tony, Agree with your comments regarding the shape I'm struggling to find anything as remotely as good. If the project follows the vision I have it will be fine. Imagine the Jock West ex works 1931 TT bike (for use by marshals?) without the sloper engine and that will be pretty close with some of my...
