Re: Ariel spotted in my home town

I only go on a bike and as I don't have to ride in the winter anymore it will be the spring or just the odd occasion. We will be in Spain until Xmas so it's a long way back for a few hours. We must make the effort next year to get together as you we live close Lee. I think I have your number.

Re: Ariel spotted in my home town

During the summer on nice days there are hundreds of bike at Hoar Park on Wednesday morning. I call it pensioners and layabout day. Old, new, flat tankers customs just every sort you can imagine, all the way almost up to the main road. You need more days off to join us.

Re: Ouch!

I changed mine last year on my 59 VH. It's been on since 59 and done over 60k miles (don't shout at me, it's not a lot). It had little stretch but it is in oil and that nice engine shock absorber is the key. Let um run dry and I think we know the outcome.

Re: Looking after paint

I had my VH powder coated in the late 1970's and only clean it now and then and it only gets polished about every 2 or 3 years but still comes up very well, or do I have very low standards.

Late 50's fork oil seals

Does anybody know the sizes of the Late telly fork oil seals. The bike is a 59 VH. They may be the same as BSA. I am sure Drags do them but if I know the sizes I could get some before I dismantle them.

Re: Castrol R oil

When I raced on the grass in the early 70's with a 500 Jap on Castrol R I always drained the oil after the events and stripped and cleaned the engine a week or so after my last meeting as it was full of condensation. The methanol did not help the oil. If you do run on R and decide to change, clean e...

Re: B-TH magdyno

Hi Vincent
No problem. Maybe take a little cash and talk nicely to him and don't forget to look poor at the same time.
