The Vincent Comet uses a BA box near identical to the Panther one .....clutch is the same as a Panther......and different to an Ariel...the dimensional difference caused mainly by the extra width of the needle roller in the Ariel clutch......to my knowlege ,no other bike used the post 1936 Ariel clutch.

True. It's because the Later ARIEL clutch is running dry and is further away from the chain and the oil in it's own compartment. The slots and the holes get damaged eventually. It could be made heavier and not affect the gear changing as increasing the clutch plate's weight does when you don't use the cork insert ones .Nev
