This bike was on EBay a few weeks ago and the seller, who is a club member, and I had an email conversation. He confirmed that he had been told by another club member, Chris Brindle, that it was a KH twin frame with home made front engine plates. He also confirmed that KS 1198 was stamped on the frame and looked clear though I assumed could not be original as its for a 1954 swinging arm frame. It sold for £4250 so the dealer who has it now is looking for a good profit.

Hi John.
Thanks for the link to its earlier ebay listing, that helps a lot! The seller has lifted a lot of the description used on ebay for his current ad, seemingly implying that it has come from someone he knows however, he failed to include the ' it was put together from parts' comment that was in the original listing which does feel a bit unscrupulous for a dealer! I suspect the V5c shows the spurious 1954 as the date of manufacture, so why persist with the 1947 date?
Best write this one off. So my search continues. I had been tempted to go to a dealer as I'm thinking of swopping my late fathers very nice BSA A10 combination, for a pre-war bike, as I don't feel that I'm ready or able to sell it, but could justify a swop. If anyone knows of anything good around, please let me know.
Many Thanks, Pete
