That's a real beauty. Not sure I've ever seen an Ariel with such a high selling price, it's almost Brough money.

Yep it's a nice thing, if expensive. I reckon that to justify a very high asking price a detailed history back to the year dot should be mandatory - interesting that there is not even a mention of the previous owner in the advert.

The value is what a man is prepaired to pay.
There are atleast 5 of them in the Netherlands and that's a very small country.

I'm pretty sure it's the one sold at Bonhams in Spring 2014 for £22,425 as it has the same home made bracket at the rear of the foot-board. It's a beauty but I would have just got it roadworthy and left it un-restored. Each to their own though.

I'm sure you're right Guy - well spotted. With its history and patina the high price in 2014 is understandable. I'm not sure it was in "original paint" but the 2014 tank finish matches the period illustration. Also the EIC magneto is a more period item than the square ML now fitted.
