Nice NG, little wrong, why is the front guard front to back?
VB, is a restamp.
VH in 350 frame, has a cut and glue altered dating form signed by Paul.
HS, has a altered dating form signed by Paul.

Interesting comments Adrie - why do you say the dating certs have been altered?

Having just compared the dating certificates with the originals which remain on my computer, the only alterations have been, in both cases, to conceal the name and address of the owner. In all other respects they are as I produced them. It is easy enough to check that they are the original dating certificates if you are interested in buying a bike because all my certificates had my address embossed into the paper. You can't fake that on a photocopier and the embossing stamp remains here on my desk.

Nice looking group of Ariels....
Allow me some nit picking, if not I still wil do (Ooooo I love to!)

The NG : handlebar has a hole for a straight pul twistgrip, hmmm a bit odd.
Handlebar levers are ball ended and I think they should be the solid type (?)
Very, yes very cheap handlebar switch -shame on you-
And why have a horn button when the horn is not connected...
Top links.........Oh NO not again, Yes they do. Please have some attention to detail dear Mr. 'Restorer' !
Speedo has 'PN' on dail. should this not be a PA ?
Exhaust pipe cooling clamps are not the correct type, these are much to large but is what you get when you dont search long enough for the proper ones.
Carb is a postwar item, it should have air holes near the bottom of the main body.
As Adrie already mentioned, front mudguard the wrong way up and the rear one is to short/ends to high at the rear.
So....at 10.000,- Great Brexit Pounds this is serious money for a bike that misses out in the details.
Afterall, thats what you should / can / may expect at this price level.
In that respect my Burney would have been a much better and cheaper option, and a 500 on top of that ! But it's no longer for sale, I have returned on my steps and keep it to enjoy ! :D

A copper fuel line and the correct tap would be nice too.

Glad to hear you are keeping Burney, Vincent!
cheers

That'll be me. That VH 500 is coming to Gloucester. First-time Ariel owner and quite a while since I last rode a motorcycle. As soon as it arrives I'll join the Owners Club, get some insurance and then reappear with questions like, "How do I start it?" closely followed by "How do I switch it off?"
