long top links shortens wheelbase with the same head angle, makes for increased straight line stability.
what you want on something like this....
see marvellous book on that by Foale & Willoughby

Its just a "Push and Go" Dragster by the look of it, with the push bar acting as a Ladder Bar to prevent flip-over.

That motor deserves to be in something that can be ridden on the road (with open pipes . . . Oh Momma!) .

Do I detect the start of a new build thread (hopefully) ???

Bob.

Probably about 40 HP. Needs to be able to adjust speed fairly responsively and run smoothly. Flat belt (very smooth but NOT big horsepower) and BIG flywheel and big displacement. Push bike pace machine. Upright riding position for more shielding of the following bicycle. Similar machines were built 15 years (and more) prior to that one (which is 1928, according to the blurb but the forks are about 39-43 Ariel) Nev

It being a home built where dus the engine originate from? a trainlorry? it should be the otherway around so it got me thinking, if you cheance the cams it could run normal again.
