38 square

Postby Kevin.Priest » Thu Aug 16, 2018 9:03 pm

Trying to get my wife’s VF ready for Germany I got so fed up with crap parts that I’ve thrown my toys out and decided to sell up, nine Ariels will be coming up for sale .
Initially is my 38 square that I bought from a club member recently , she’s a black and chrome bike , matching numbers with very nice fishtail exhausts . She rides very nicely but has a oil leak , non valanced front mudguard and wrong tool box however I have got the correct tool box and valanced mudguard .
If interested pm me if not I’ll list on eBay.
Cheers
Kevin

Can't help it, but some how I have got the feeling that a lot of Ariel owners fancy a BMW.
It allways makes me wonder what it is why people are attracted to this lifeless Teutonic vehicle instead of a genuine oil incontinent beast from Albion

I have two (used to have four) .

They make a nice change from the hassle of old British bikes (wheel them out, start them up, ride 900 miles with a couple of stops for fuel, put them back in the garage ready for next time. No oil leaks).

Bob.
My avatar shows the late Len Rich in 1970 with the bike I now have - a 1958 Ariel VH

This all makes me laugh really but seriously though the Ariel's are going, I run a very busy business and almost need to retire to keep this lot on the road.
What annoys me most with the Brand is poor quality and availability of parts and to top it off many times I've used so called recommended people for repairs for mags etc and even there work is questionable. I've since stripped a mag that I've just had rebuilt and it is poor, even gasket thickness compared to original is wrong.
Anyway toys are still thrown out so I am gonna go to the German Rally on a my trusty Boring BMW outfit.
Keep an eye on Ebay as there is going to be a few non boring bikes coming up for sale although I have promised first refusal of 2 to forum members.

Understood.

May I ask you -before they go on Ebay- to show the Ariels in the 'Members Only' part of this forum please ?
