Girder Fork Damper

Postby simon.holyfield » Fri Apr 21, 2017 5:54 pm

Folks,
Does anyone have a spare damper wing nut? It's the one on the offside of the girder fork I'm looking for, a cast metal nut with two wings. My original only has one wing...

I'm looking for a sound one in 'patinated' condition for my W/NG.
cheers

Hello Simon, cant you just weld a bit on ?
I welded a extension on Burney's kickstart and it still holds.
Bytheway, I noticed on a 1946 Model range leaflet that the girders had a round knob.
Did this reach the salesrooms?

I thought it was cast and wouldn't weld reliably - but as you've done it I will give it a whirl.

Watch this space!
cheers
