Postby olaf.suess » Mon Jan 13, 2020 10:28 am

Hello
I am looking for the following parts: 4036-29 C14/44 Front Wheel Spindel-- Without a camp but with a mother
5244-39 Gear Ring 43 T -----> I have to swap NOS 44 t
5246-38 Pinion 14 T on Gearbox ----->I have to swap NOS 15 t

I still have a question.What is the distance from the clip of the DU 42 Lamp down to the fender.
I have no original dimensions for mounting the lamp and the speedometer.

Olaf
Try AOMCC single spares re speedo gears, Peter Kemp has them listed on the spreadsheet.

4036-29 Draganfly has them listed as excellent stock level

Regarding bottom of headlamp retaining clip height to the central ridge on mudguard: scaling off an original WNG photo imported into AutoCad I got 14cm based on 45.5cm centre of wheel spindle to centre of lower front girder fork spindle (45.5 measured on my WNG). However, it is possible for the mudguard to be slightly higher or lower depending on its mounting bracket/position. A better measurement is the vertical height from the centre of the front wheel spindle to a horizontal line projected out from the bottom of the headlamp clip'''''' based on the scale photo this is is 52cm, (mine measures 51cm).

Which speedo mounting do you have? side or central. From the parts lists it appears that the side mounted ones were used from the end of September 1941 (from engine number 10789/frame 28241) (central mounting upto this point)

If it is side mounted then one bracket for the speedo comes from the headlamp mounting bolt so the headlamp needs to be the correct height or the speedo cable will be too short/long. The cable for the side mounted is 25 inches long (shorter than the central one which is 28.5 inches long) See this post I did on the issue viewtopic.php?f=49&t=9505&start=20#p69974

Hope this helps

Cheers

Another piece of info. WNG Parts books show the lower headlamp support arm (6101-39) was 7 1/2 inches between centers and the upper arm (6102-34) was 4 5/8 inches between centers. These measurements are therefore between the arm mounting hole centers and should therefore set the headlamp in the correct position.

Many thanks for the help. I have the bracket built for the lamp itself. For the speedometer on the side too.
Now I wanted to install the shaft and the speedometer gear ... Mounting the lamp is not OK. Everything is not right. But now I have dimensions. Thank you.

15 years of collecting will soon come to an end.

Try this company in the UK, apparently they make WNG racks http://www.heritagemotorworks.co.uk/

or see this forum post for all the measurements and make one yourself viewtopic.php?f=49&t=7909
