VB tappets

If you have December 2020's "Cheval de Fer" you'll see that there's a plea in the "Wanted" section from Tony Regan for accurate dimensions of the VB tappets even a worn out pattern so copies might be made. Can anyone help? (Alas, I assembled my own VB with my less than perfect tappets thinking I'd get better ones later - wrong!)

There's a rumour that they are available from our Czech friends; can anyone point me in the right direction to them?

I'm contacting the club spares but feel its a long shot. Thanks in advance, MikeN.

Hi Its a bit late perhaps but I have got what I think are VB followers part no 6/41 they are a bit worn but could do as a pattern let me know if they are any good I could send you a photo to check then send them to you if they are any good Regards Clive.

Thank you for remembering, Mr Charvey & Vincent, and coming back with info.

Those bits, Vincent are very interesting but I'm wary at the moment of importing things from the EU; there're lots of stories of delays, taxes, duties, etc that worry me, otherwise I'd be very keen. Have you any advice on purchasing these items?

Regarding your followers, Mr Charvey, I'm after not after the cam followers but the vertical tubular items about 4 inches long and about 3/4 inches diameter that the followers lift and which transmit the action to the base of the valves. If you have one of these that I might measure I'd be very grateful.

hello Mike, last week I recieved a small package from our Single Spares Officer.
No import duty's or vat on it.
Not yet.....atm it is a kind of cock-up at the border, I think that small packages that look like from civilians > civilians are let through.
But that is in to the Netherlands, I dont know what happens when something arrives at UK border/customs.

I have a suspicion they are the same as the OHV ones used on the models that have the "box" on the side of the cylinder with the valve lifter mechanism on it. Like as 1930 model G. A check of the parts list would confirm. If so, I can measure for you. Nev

They have a "special" adjuster locknut on the exhaust one and the OHV has different tappets (ball ended) but I "thinK"? the main part is the same. Parts book should show first year of use. Nev
