Hello,
As Ive had no luck in finding a late model VB, just wondering if anyone has a late VB engine I can use to convert my rattling, smokey Huntmaster? I've had enough of twins.
Any advice on the conversion appreciated.
Please phone Mike on 0113 2262351 after 6pm

Are you sure ???
50 mph (give or take) cruising speed ...

I have a VB600 barrel, head, piston with valves etc.
I also have it's carburettor and a usable crankshaft.

I do have a set of cases BUT they are currently underneath my OHV top end and I have no plans to take it off (until I fix my OHV crankshaft with shot big end)

You will need all the other parts for a single as well, mind.... engine plates, primary cases etc etc.

I'll exchange my bits for OHV parts ( I have two OHV's) .....

Hello,
50 mph sounds fine to me, as long as it's reliable + steady! I've had enough of trying to get this engine to run right, spent a fortune!
May take you upon your offer but, will wait first to see if anything complete turns up.
regards, Mike

Hello,
The VB is in my opinion a pleasant and very reliable workhorse! As long as your magneto is sound and your carb is not worn out, it will go for ages to come! I once had a 1933 557cc VB, it never let me down. If you are interested I have original (with oil hole on top of the cases!) VB cases in very sound condition with engine number EJ 3141X (1949) I want to swop these (if sound) for 1947 350 OHV cases starting with number BKxxxx to make my 1947 OHV number correct for that year. I also have a timing pinion, a camshaft, two cam folowers, one tappet, a crankshaft with wornout bigend (tapered model the same as all 350’s models, some VG’s etc.), inner timing case, oilpump, new piston rings. All in good useable condition so all in all a complete bottom end. Will visit next Annual.

Regards Paul
