Parts and info wanted to start my 350 RH project

Postby chrisf » Fri Jun 06, 2014 3:03 pm

I need the following parts please to start my 1935 Red Hunter project (see pics in 'members bikes')... and I'm sure lots more that I don't yet know about :(
Petrol tank plate / cover for gauges (I'm sure it has a proper name)
Associated gauges for above including speedo
I'm getting the feeling a 'real' speedo is hard to come by / very expensive so can anyone tell me where to get a pattern / replica or even what dimensions / type to go hunting for...
All the bits to connect the gauges to where they're supposed to join up to
A stand of some sort (currently leans on the bench)
Headlight
Number plate holder and rear light

The above bits should be more than enough to keep me occupied for the time being at least...

Any info on where I can get the above or even pattern parts to get me up and running would be very much appreciated as well
Many thanks in advance
Chris

You can buy the tank panel in stainless from single spares, along with oil gauge and 8 day clock. If you call peter kemp he will be able to tell you what you need.

You can buy a wiring harness from draganfly.

Not sure on the others, eBay perhaps and autojumbles!

His contact details are on page 2 of cheval de fer. If you have just joined and haven't got a copy yet the next one should arrive in the next few days

Check your generator is the 3 brush type (original) which has no voltage or current regulator. The wiring harness will be different . Nev

Thanks for your help so far, I have emailed Peter Kemp to see what he can help me with.
The Dynamo has 2 brushes, not 3 so don't know if this will make a difference? If so does anyone want to swap a nice refurbished 2 brush dynamo for a 3 brush one when it comes back from the repairers :)
I think I'll hold back on the harness until I'm sure I know what I'm ordering, the other parts should be straight forward I think...
