I've been wondering how to make caps lockable, it's an obvious vulnerability - fuel and oil.

this is how it originally was on a W/NG,
easy to copy on any large cap Ariel

i have heard of speedometers also going AWOL at autojumbles and meets.
Easy done with girder fork machines.

I went to an auction (local to me in ledbury) a year or two back, and as we pulled up a chap asked if we had seen anyone take the fuel cap and oil cap off his old triumph.....

I no longer take a british bike to these sort of events - I take something russian as they appear to be universally reviled within other superficially similar old motorcycle clubs ;)

Yes, it certainly takes the fun out of riding your Ariel, several bits that can be taken off in a split second.
On Burney I have locked the chronometric nuts and also the other end of the brackets, the one at the headlamp inside it.
That leaves; steering damper knob, content of toolboxes, carb bellmouth, magneto end cap, plug cap, fork wing nut, or actually the whole bike if 4 low lifes team up.
So my hope is that their combined IQ is low enough not to

That’s so disheartening. Good luck with the search.
