Monobloc for a 1955 VB

Postby klaus gerhard » Wed Feb 21, 2018 10:16 am

My friend Robert wants to fit a new monobloc to his 1955 VB. What he now needs is the distance piece between the carb and the barrel. Drags don't have them. Can anybody help?

Thanks very much.
Klaus

Hi Klaus,
Would a Tufnel spacer from Surrey Cycles do the job?

I think 1/2" would be enough, but it is best to measure before ordering.

Thanks Chris ans Eero,
VBs had an Amal carb with a longer manifold before they were fitted with the monobloc in ca 1955. To keep the carb away from the magdyno, a alloy spacer was used of I guess 4-5 cms. This is what Robert needs. (see Postwar Models page 96)

Thanks Allan,
good to know about the Monobloc details. Whats needed most is the distace piece between the carb and the barrel.
Thanks Klaus

I have a '55 VB with the original spacer between carb and barrel. Would you like me to photograph it and send you measurements?
