I don't wish to complicate things here but it is a lot easier if you have 2 or preferably 3 of these pullers when you attempt to time the valves on a KH. The works must have had a trick or two but setting the valve timing on a KH is a nightmare involving 3 woodruff keys either falling out or rotating in their slots so as to prevent the sprocket going on, shims getting out of place and the usual lack of hands the size of a baby's but with the strength of a gorilla's.

The method described in the instruction book does make it very difficult when setting the timing, as Paul states you require more than two hands and a lot of patience.
I now use the method per the attachments which makes it very easy, it breaks the assembling down into seperate stages and therefore it can be done with two hands.
First mark the exhaust and crank shaft sprockets as page 2, fit these two sprockets to the engine, feed the chain onto these sprockets relative to the new markings, fit the inlet sprocket, feed the chain around the inlet sprocket and finally fit the chain connecting link.

Regards,
John P.
