Wanted: Petrol Tank for a 1956 VB?

Postby rick king » Fri Aug 17, 2018 4:46 am

Just cleaning my rusty tank to see if I can get away with sealing it, it looks bad inside.
Thought I would see if anyone had one they wanted to sell.

Hopefully i won't need it, it cleaned a treat and I didn't have to solder up loads of holes.
However well the cleaning went the stuff to passivate it didn't work and I had to acid clean it again.
I have passivated the surface again and will see in a day or so if I can line it.
It went from pitted rust on the entire inside surface to looking like this:
