It wouldn't be legal these days. I think they used to be called pudding basins and a legal copy was about supposedly.. Nev

In the Netherlands this one , being a original, would still be approved to use....
Of course you would be a fool to risk your brains unless you already have none.
And your insurance will also leave you to it in the rest of your vegetable life.

There are parades in France and in The Netherlands going 5 miles an hour where they are wearing leather helmets or nothing at all.

I think a pudding basin with a BSI mark is still legal in the UK. I stopped wearing mine after I fell off and landed on my head. Surprisingly the helmet did its job well, but the dent in it and the blood all over it from a cut to my forehead put me off using it again.

The UK/ law as set out on the GOV.Uk website https://www.gov.uk/motorcycle-helmet-law

All helmets worn on UK roads must meet one of the following:

British Standard BS 6658:1985 and carry the BSI Kitemark

UNECE Regulation 22.05

a European Economic Area member standard offering at least the same safety and protection as BS 6658:1985, and carry a mark equivalent to the BSI Kitemark

To my knowledge there are no pudding basin type helmets that meet the required specification. 'Davida' do make one but their website points out that it does not meet any current safety standards

Cheers

The one with the blood all over it should fetch a high price. When I started riding you didn't have to have a helmet . I got knocked off my RE 1947 Bullet and landed on my head. (That probably explains a lot of things)..Nev
