Arrow conrod

Postby Peter Holder » Wed Feb 15, 2017 9:51 pm

Has anyone got a conrod preferably one of the later ones, good, bad or indifferent. I need a pattern, without stripping my engine, as I am going to make a new set. It could be a loan, I will return it after measurement.
Regards
Peter

Hello again,

I have one of each type, they are a bit rusty but should be OK for measuring.

Just for my own interest , will the little end be a plain or needle bearing and what grade of material are they to be made from ?

Regards Brian Hinchliffe.

Hi Brian
I prefer bronze bushes over needle rollers for little ends as there is only oscillation not revolution. I have an extruded bar of Aerospace L160 T7351 so will CNC mill from billet. I will use different big end bearings with an oil supply through to the little end. As I can mill them I can adjust the length to suit various pistons and maintain the proper squish band clearance so can be flexible.
How do you want to do this, can send you a cheque or use paypal?

Regards

Peter

Hi Peter,

No charge for the items or postage -- you can put the postage cost in a charity if you wish.

Thanks for the information.

If you send your address by the messaging facility on the site I'll get the conrod in the post as soon as possible

Regards Brian H.
