Down on power

Postby bob.keevil » Tue Jun 02, 2020 9:01 am

Hi one and all
I took out the running arrow project out on Sunday with a couple of mates from The Two Club and the bike went well on the flat but up hill with a moderate head wind I was down into third unless we were doing at least fifty-fifty five. The bike starts well, loads of power in second and third gears ticks over well. Will raising the needle improve this or make it poorer.

Cheers Bob K

Hi Johnny

No the bike is as standard to the best of my knowledge. It only has about 450 miles or so on it after a full rebuild so I may be hoping for to much, my other arrow will pull in top from about 45-50 so may be I need a bit more patience ,thanks for your reply.

HI i think you need to run it in more and use lower gears and not let engine labour and build the speed slowly up till its run in or you can seize it up :!:

Hi Johnny
The bike looks as if it wants to go, I want it to go, so as usual I will have to hold off for a bit longer. A run up John Ellis's rally (300 mile round trip )would have been just the ticket hey ho,2020 makes life like that, I will just have to think about my leader project now instead of waiting until next winter. Thanks for your input.

HI Bob k i think you are doing it right by ruining it in more and the bike will be better in the long run and you will not wreck the engine :!:
