leader choke

Postby grahamhibbs » Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:20 am

Hi all I've had an arrow for many years and having recently finished renovating a leader I'm having to use the tickler on the carburettor to start it cold but obviously can't reach it with the side panels on, :? Has anyone come up with a way of reaching or extending the tickler on the leader :?:
How do others do it.

Hello ,

The best device I've seen is the camera remote shutter operating cable, there are also levers fastened to the front engine bolt and levers operated by chain to the rear of the side panels.
My side panel is made from glass fibre, so I cut a hole in it and added a hatch so I could reach the tickler. It took quite a long time to make but it works OK and the panel is lighter than the steel one+ I've not damaged an original item.

Brian, took your suggestion and it works very well. Cost less than £3 but had to wait three weeks for shutter release to come from China.

Hello,

Very neat and simple but effective set-up.

Nice one !
