Another front brake improvement idea/request

Postby terrylangley » Thu Feb 22, 2018 12:17 pm

Instead of converting an Arrow front brake plate to TLS or fit a non Arrow TLS front hub & brake has anyone fitted a larger 7,8 or 9 inch single leading shoe hub & brake which could avoid the problem of space between the forks for the TLS linkage. Any ideas or suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks Terry Langley

Hello Terry,

I tried some British bike front brakes , 7'' sls, in my Arrow but non of them would fit in the narrow forks, which is why I went for the TLS Japanese brake.

On the Leader I tried a TLS conversion but it needed a bit more work to get it working well. The attached which I have posted before with the longer brake arm and revised anchor point is an improvement, it's not dramatic but is noticeable in day to day use with just a bit more bit.
