Leader tyres & white walls

Postby Anthony Woolhead » Wed Jul 17, 2019 9:59 am

Can anyone tell me where to get tyres for a leader? I have found a rear tyre of an obscure make for just over £40 but can't find a front. Can you still get a ribbed front tyre? Also, what are your opinions on the loose white walls, are they any good?

Tony.

Hi Tony,

There were some tyres advertised on e bay by a dealer who bought a large batch from France, the tyres had reached their sell by date but are otherwise OK.
I use Dunlop ,Mitchelin or Heidenau tyres, although the first two are getting harder to obtain.

John Ellis of AOMCC 2T spares or Keith Harding are the people to ask re the white walls. Some tyres accept them OK and on others they are very difficult to fit.

There are some white wall tyres but they do not look right somehow, I thnk they are made by Corker.

Hi Brian H, just seen your post on tyres. Thanks for the reply. I managed to get a pair of Mitas tyres and the white walls from Draganfly fitted very well, they look super on the bike.

Hi, For tyres try the Heidenau brand made in Germany, they have a good classic pattern and are available from quite a few tyre dealers. Brian H.
