Alloy Head & Alloy Cylinder

Postby MarkC » Wed Jan 03, 2018 12:16 pm

Hi,
Is it recommended to fit this Head/Cylinder joint dry or with an agent, eg grease ?

Grease doesn't do much, unless it has something "special" in it. I've taken to using good rattle can high temp aluminium paint lately with good results, If it 's lapped one.( earlier iron ones) I just have it clean and a wisp of WD.. Nev

I have run my big VH road bike with Alloy head and alloy barrel with ceramic bore for years with just a spigot ground joint with no problems. No grease required.
