Taken a bit of finding but this is the Ariel Red Hunter in 'The Avengers'. It is in Series 2 Episode 'Mr Teddy Bear'. Honor Blackman about to rip the HT lead off the bike and the actor Michael Robbins finding out the bike won't start. No crash helmet in 1962.

It's in export paint. Could you buy a bike in export paint from a dealer in the UK? I'd always assumed these were filmed in the UK?
cheers

They were filmed in England. The '59 catalogue lists finish in claret, black or glamour red. I guess they were selling red bikes from late '58 onwards, although I am sure you could get them to order earlier.

For a comprehensive listing of vehicles in 'The Avengers' (including a Leader in background!) (and other screen appearances):
https://www.imcdb.org/m54518.html
They've got the machine in 'Mr Teddy Bear' down as a '55 Huntmaster - but there are a couple of other Huntmaster appearances listed including France and Sweden!
(Hmm - searching on 'Ariel' gets very interesting!!)

'55 Huntmaster, '56 VH, ' 51 VH, '80 R100RT, '00 Sprint ST (but all those Ariel parts can only make one running bike...)

I'm happy to know that Jerry, thanks.

Now I feel I can legitimately repaint my FH in Glamour Red.

A movie to see: listed as one of the 1001 movies someone must see before they die. (No rush )

A Matter of Life and Death, 1946, starring Raymond Massey, Roger Livesey, David Niven and Kim Hunter.

This is a war time movie depicting a snapshot of a distressed aviator in May 1945. When cheating death he has to appeal to a celestial court for a second chance at life.

When the movie was released in North America, the title was changed to Stairway to Heaven because it was believed people would be depressed by a title with the word death in it so soon after war’s end. I guess the Brits are made of steadier stuff :)

The icing on the cake and really the most important reason to watch is a short ride by Doctor Reeves on a Square Four!

Years ago I bought a CD of this movie from England but had to have it copied into the format suitable for NA. Well worth the cost :D
