I'm working in Burton on Trent tomorrow and will pop into the National motorcycle museum on my way home, if anyone would like any pictures taken of an Ariel to help your restoration just let me know.

Steve.

Nice !!

I do like 'Cammy Squares' .

Its a few years since I last visited the Museum - 2006 I think, I was on a BMW K1200GT. I must go back sometime.

The speedo support makes it 1950 but it has to be sheet metal not alu that came in 51.

the KH is nice.
The front mudguard stays are tubular which makes them post 49. The rear mudguard stays appear tubular and if so can only be 1950. If not tubular they are pre 1950. The rear guard is hinged so is pre 51. The seat springs are barrel which makes them 51. The top yoke appears to be cast aluminium which again says 51. So the bike is either 50 or 51 but either way there are a couple of minor discrepancies for the anorak.

I think it's the 1950 update model and the barrel seat springs may be an aftermarket improvement. 1951 had the plain fuel tank.
It is a very nicely looking bike.
Does anyone know about a weakness in KH drive side crank cases?
