Altette vibratingplate

I bought an Altette where the springplate was rotted away, it was 0.5mm, bought that steel plate and made a new using a flat metal grinding-cuttingdisc on a electromotor, an easy job.

I made rotating discs for 2 strokes the same way in the 70's of 0.4mm plate.

That could take untill next winter, have to sandblast the base, we are rallying now.

I have "fettled" a few Altette horns and the vibrating plate is not flat, but pressed slightly into a crimped double disc, to allow it to vibrate. Will be interested to hear how it sounds or not? You may have to not totally tighten the case screws to give it freedom to vibrate and operate the make and break contacts. Alternatively sandwich your plate between thick paper gaskets might work.

It's in full working order now, with the flat plate totaly tightened, the magnet has no problem pulling it in.
