I can't see it in the pic. but the top shackle plates have the chamfer on the inside top so the cables don't get rubbed.. Have you checked the length of the forks to see if they are WN/G.? Nev

Ha ha the top plates will be the wrong way round then, bugger!!!
Yes I did check the lenght of the forks and they are not wn/g
With a few days off over Christmas I am planning to get the frame painted and then start on the motor.
Cheers Andy

That looks like a great project bike right there. Be patient while waiting for your membership papers to arrive. I signed up at the end of November but haven’t received mine as of yet. No hurry anyway, winter has finally arrived so its my time to hibernate.

Remember the oil tank questions earlier in this thread well its now up for sale or exchange for the correct one for my year bike. I would prefer to swap but if there is no interest then i will have to try ebay.
The one i have (below) is for a 1930 Ariel and i require one for a 1940s bike.
There are no dent or rot just a bit oily.
Andy

I have a similar one, for pulling magneto armature bearing inner races off the shaft, though I guess it could be used for other split type bearings.
As an extra, do you have a tool for removing the woodruff keys on MOI mag shafts, that have to be removed before the drive end bearing inner can be pulled off? I have had great difficultly in a few cases, and removing with without damaging the armature can be very time consuming. I am not worried about scraping the keys, as new ones can be fitted.
