1928 Model C

Postby M.Bagshaw » Fri Jun 17, 2016 8:42 pm

Finally got my bike up and running;two issues currently, slight oil leak behind engine sprocket, I did not remove this during renovation as it was good. What is behind doing the sealing, or not as in my case.

Secondly on the front brake where the cable connects to the rod you have a sleeve, how is this sleeves meant to be held in the fork bracket, mine does not stay in and drops down onto the top of the rod leaving a small but annoying gap.

Comments appreciated.

On later Ariel singles there is no sealing behind the sprocket, I guess its the same on this one.
As for the sleeve, I think maybe in the same way as on later models: the sleeve is kept in place by means of a spring on top of the rod which pushes the sleeve against the cable bracket.
