After ± 25 years I saw my dad's MkII again, now in a private collection, nice.
We visited this collection during saturdays run.
Back at the campingsite, the official Ariel Clubhouse well known to all Arielisty !
Saturday evening Cees (pictured) noticed Steve was wearing a T-shirt with the evolution of man finalising in a man on a Leader !
So he asked Steve where he got it, within a split second Steve gave Cees his (given to him by his daugther!) 'Evolution Leader' T-shirt !
Next day - with Steve already on his way to the ferry- I brought Cees his new T-shirt.
See him wearing it next to his Leader.
He is one of the founding fathers of the Dutch Ariel Club (no
, not a branch!) in 1966.
After many years of no involvement with the club he rejoined a few years ago, and dug out his Leader -bought in the early sixties- again.
On the way back from the rally we passed a location with a Hunebed a pre-historic buriel ground (they think) .
I only know these from my schoolbooks....so here was a chance to see a real one.
1 kilometer through a forest on - not a path meant for motorcycles.....
