'51 SQ4 Build Photo

I don't post too many photos of the current projects, but thought I'd share this one now that the bike is on wheels.

The wheels are from another SQ4 project that is a few steps behind this one, still a lot of work remaining, but at least it looks like a bike now.

Next step for winter work is to get the rims and a tank painted...I'm really trying to avoid a reproduction tank.

Does anyone know of an original '51 SQ4 tank that is for sale?

FYI, I purchased an India(n) all chrome tank for my bike about 2 years ago for around $250 I recall. It is not perfect, and I am going to have to adjust the mounting bosses underneath.. nowhere close to a stock frame. My current OEM is still holding up, so I will likely hold off on the new one until later.

PS your frame looks good. Wish I had that bike table in my shop.. would have saved lots of aching back time!

No... Its sitting in my loft waiting for me to run out of projects and need something to do!

If you took that tank to Ray Pettit in Nottingham you would get it back as good as new for a reasonable price. He normally works to a standard which would allow rechroming of the tank but 1951 is a year that the tank was simply painted.
