29 forks

Postby andyhughesflattankarielpre25 » Sat May 18, 2019 8:20 pm

I bought these a few months back with a few other 29 bits and wondered if anybody had seen this mod before or was it a factory one for export as it came from the eu.

Don't think it's from the factory. More likely a headlamp support or stirrup/double front brake arrangement. Nev

A piece of angle iron welded on........probably not too difficult to remove, and restore the forks...........certainly worth the effort with what girders sell for now.

Thanks chaps,I thought it was a home made thing, I will cut it off as I intend to use the forks. I was curious as to see if anybody had seen anything like it before, peoples inventiveness never ceases to amaze me, you think you have seen everything, then something else turns up, they seem to have cut off the top headlamp brackets and welded this thing on.

Many eu headlights were only bottom mounted, look at any period French or German bike and you will see a similar mounting. Homemade I am sure.
