Steering head bearings

Postby tonyh » Mon May 27, 2019 9:59 pm

Can you get steering head bearings for a 55/59 tel fork bikes. Drags have a part number but appear not to stock them. Are they the same as BSA or can you fit taper rollers.
Thanks Tony

BSA do not fit, I have tried ! So fitted drags tapper roller bearing which tapped in easy after buying a head stock tool to pull the BSA ones in which I did the freezer and blow torch job and gave up.

I'm a fan of tapered rollers. They will virtually last forever if you can seal them from water. There are thin steel washer/ seals available that go on each outside end. A small amount of preload doesn't hurt them either. Use a marine wheel bearing grease when assembling. Nev
