confused between outbox and sent messages

I have a couple of messages in my outbox, it states sent but they do not show in the sent section thus confusion reigns again, kind regards

I think they remain there until the recipient opens them, when they move to the sent box

they remain in your outbox until the recipient reads them

I am afraid that I have no capability to compel folks to read messages or any real view into personal messaeges between members
