Plunger horseshoe repair

Postby xavier.devars » Sat Oct 07, 2017 6:36 pm

Dear Arielists,

The LH suspension horseshoe of my sq4 has its sliding slot that has quite opened (jaws not parralel anymore, I'll post a picture as soon as I can). Is it a common ailment ?
I am thinking of heating it and straighten it back in shape, has someone already tried this ?

Regards

Xavier

It bent cold and will probably straighten cold just as well. Don't go too far with crushing it back with (vyce jaw protectors) as it's easier to crush than expand. If it's bent in one particular place use of heat is helpful in controlling where it bends when rectifying other wise shouldn't be needed. Nev
